Meet Danison!

Hello! I am a Filipino American artist, originally from Belleville, New Jersey. I am now living in Orlando, Florida with my amazing husband (Josh), adopted daughter (Emerson), and yellow lab (Riley). I split my time between my day job as an accountant for Disney and my creative pursuits in the wedding industry!
I found my passion for calligraphy early in life, but put it into real practice for my own wedding. I designed my own invitation suite, hand-addressed my own envelopes, and created beautiful signage for the big day. Since then, I’ve helped a number of couples express their creativity using my unique skills for their wedding day.
Outside of the wedding space, I’ve also been featured as a Guest Lettering Artist with Let’s Make Art, a Content Creator for the 2022-2024 Tombow USA Creator Crew, and a Lettering Instructor for My Modern Met Academy.
Why “Bowtie” and “Brush”?
Let’s start off with bowtie. They are kind of my thing. From an early age, I wore bowties to formal events rather than a standard necktie. It was a way for me to stand out from everyone else and express my true self with either a pop of color or a fun print. It also didn’t hurt that people would compliment me more and be super impressed with my ability to tie one without having to look in a mirror. Bowties are meant to complete a look and bring everything together, so why not do that for your wedding? ALSO, weddings are usually the only event where a guy will ever wear a bowtie in their lifetime—so I figured it was appropriate for the industry.
Oh, and brush! Well, I’m an artist who specializes in brush lettering and calligraphy + I also use brush pens and paint brushes for watercolor.
